The Kumho Crugen HT51 uses Kumho’s advanced technology with its special dual layer tread that allows consistent traction even as the tread wears. The extended， high performance compound used in the HT51 tread resists the usual rubber hardening at the high temperatures often encountered during highway use; remaining flexible and providing excellent traction mile after mile. The high grip rubber that forms the underlying layer of the dual layer tread is exposed as the tread wears down and offsets the resultant loss in traction on wet surfaces. Thus the Kumho Crugen HT51 allows the tire to maintain assured handling as the tread wears down.
Externally， the tread compounds in the Crugen HT51 are molded into asymmetrical All-Season tread pattern that reduces road noise， and increases ride comfort. Circumferential and lateral grooves combine with sipes in the tread to channel water away from beneath the tires contact patch. This increases resistance to hydroplaning and improves traction. An interlocking central rib， coupled with large shoulder blocks improves responsiveness and stability at high speeds on the highway. Internally， polyester cord body plies enhance comfort. These are reinforced with twin steel belts for enhanced durability and resistance to punctures.
